Joey was yelling, "Snow man! Snow man!" He was shocked when get got out of the van and there was sand instead of snow. We visited White Sands, New Mexico on our way from Tucson. Today our trip changed directions (literally and figuratively) as we headed East. We will need to drive some ten hours days to make it to our next destination in time...anyway, I was born in Alamogordo and had never been to the dunes. It was great to share it with the boys and Farrell. They loved making sand angels! Brendan actually peed on the dunes-shhhh! Joey wasn't sure what was going on....=-)After the dunes we went to visit the hospital where I was born (after a stop at IHOP) and then it was onward! It was beautiful to climb out of the mountains in Western New Mexico at sunset. Virginia or bust!
